Feedback Strategies
In the article “Try Feedforward Instead of Feedback” written by Marshall Goldsmith, the author writes about how important it is for an employee to know their performance level and if it meets the expectation of their leaders. I agree with what the author says about how feedforward can help a person be more successful by visualizing their success and accomplishing a goal. With that being said, the communication involved with feedforward can also be strengthened by allowing the employee to talk to their leaders and have a clear understanding of each other.
In another article, “Be a Mirror: Give Readers Feedback that Fosters a Growth Mindset” written by Gravity Goldberg, the author explains how feedback can act like a mirror, showing the person what needs to be improved on specifically. I really like that idea. I do agree how feedback can act like a mirror by giving responses on what can be improved on in order to make it better. Additionally, I also think that it’s important for a teacher to give such feedback to his/her student, in which doing so helps the student learn from their mistakes and still be motivated to do better.
