Topic Brainstorm

Ganesha: I think an interesting topic to research about would be Ganesha, one of the more popular god in Hinduism. I’ve been introduced to Ganesha in a class I had back in high school, but never went in-depth to learning more about him. I think that one of the most well known attribute of Ganesha is his elephant head that makes him easily distinguishable. There has been stories of Ganesha being beheaded by Shiva. With that being said, I want to learn more about the story of how he becomes the Ganesha that we know now. Source: Ganesha: The Remover of All Obstacles

Women of the Epics: Another topic that I found interest in would be Women of the Epics. I think that women play a vital role in the world. Furthermore, being raise by strong, independent women, I would like to read more stories about the great women of India, especially over Draupadi. From the little research I’ve done, I found her character as someone fiery, yet compassionate. I think I see a little bit of myself in her, so I would love to do more research to learn more about her. Source: Draupadi

Yoga: Another interesting topic that I found is yoga. Lately, I’ve been really into yoga and meditation. As an easily stressed-out person, I found that yoga has helped me a lot in learning how to be more calm and at peace. Instead of being just a system of physical exercise, yoga has a meditative and spiritual core. With that being said, I think that it would be rather extremely interesting about the influences of yoga around the world. Source: Yoga

Karma: Finally, one of the other interesting topic I found was about Karma, the spiritual principle of cause and effect where one’s action or intent influences the future of that individual. The good choices and good intent that a person makes usually produces good karma or a future of ease, whereas bad choices and bad intents usually results in bad karma or the suffering of the individual in the near future. With that being said, I agree with how karma works and it seems like something that I would enjoy doing intense research over. Source: Karma
